The world is depending on us to love our bodies more! Body love is essential to living a life free of low confidence, self-doubt and full of belief in oneself as being gods gift to the universe!
But, there is a term called diet culture which decides which bodies are deemed beautiful and which aren’t. And we bought into it- creating havoc in our lives! From hating our bodies or body parts, to a constant nag to change, fix or reduce our size.
Diet Culture is a disastrous combination of pop culture, media, pseudoscience and social theories and we are all stifled by it.
It is unquestionably toxic, but trying to untangle ourselves from it is totally complicated because weight lose gets more praise than any other achievement we may have in our lives.
Over time, our culture developed a standard of beauty that when unnatural thinness became attractive, girls did unnatural things to be thin. The world around us is stuck in an eating disorder phenomenon that praises food restriction and food elimination above hunger and fullness.
If diet culture didn’t exist and food was just food and bodies where just bodies, you wouldn’t feel judged by what you were eating or your size and then there would be no such thing as binge and emotional eating.
Your body tells you what it needs. Diets teach you how not to listen.
Its time we decide that we are more than bodies.
Its time we decide to honor our hunger.
Its time we decide to honer our bodies natural set point.
Its time we decide to make a change.
